Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Launch Date and Innovative Features

Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge, its slimmest flagship smartphone to date, during a virtual Unpacked event on May 12, 2025. The device is set to launch in the U.S. on May 30, 2025, with pre-orders already underway. 

Design and Display

Measuring just 5.8mm in thickness and weighing 163 grams, the Galaxy S25 Edge is a marvel of engineering. Its sleek profile is complemented by a 6.7-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, offering a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 2,600 nits of brightness. The device is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 and features a durable titanium frame. 

Camera Capabilities

The S25 Edge boasts a 200MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. The front-facing camera is a 12MP sensor with an 85-degree field of view. Samsung's ProVisual Engine enhances image quality, and AI features like AI Zoom and Audio Eraser provide advanced photography and editing tools. 

Performance and Software

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, the Galaxy S25 Edge delivers robust performance. It runs on Android 15 with Samsung's One UI 7, offering features like Multi Window, Samsung DeX, and Edge Panel. The device also integrates Galaxy AI functionalities, including natural language search and real-time transcription. 

Battery and Charging

The device houses a 3,900mAh battery, supporting 25W wired and 15W wireless charging. While the battery capacity is modest, Samsung has implemented efficient cooling technologies to optimize performance. 

Pricing and Availability

The Galaxy S25 Edge is available in two storage variants: 256GB priced at $1,099.99 and 512GB at $1,219.99. Pre-order promotions include a free storage upgrade and a $50 credit or gift card. Color options include Titanium Silver, Titanium Jetblack, and Titanium Icyblue.
